2009 Curriculum Vitae Mike Butler |
Mike Butler’s path towards an absolute refinement of the
photographic images has been one of single minded dedication. From the early years in Bangkok
Thailand, where Mike first learned the art of photography, through the raw and
un-edited scenes of the Bangkok to streets, to his recent technically
sophisticated work, his single mined determination has led to the production of
one of a kind images both in the commercial and the art spheres.
In the commercial field, Mike has created cutting edge digital images
which bridge the gap between pure commercialism and art. Many of his images done for commercial
clients are considered to be art pieces in themselves. It is to that end that he continued this
dichotomy when photographing his first major exploratory art project in
Colorado. There he applied his
commercial expertise of lighting, strict logistics and tight technical
guidelines with the ephemeral and profound world of fine art photography. The images that emerged from that first
foray into the fine art world were, as expected, exclusive visions of these
remote locations. As Mike
continues, his ultimate goal is not in supercilious but in the drive to create
esthetically pure images of one’s humans vision for the world to see. |
