The Colorado Project 2006
Sleeping in tents every night for 7 nights near the locations at elevations in excess of 13,000 feet Mike and his crew set out on an audacious project to light and photograph the most well-known ghost towns in Colorado. The project was a culmination of 15 years of photographic study dovetailed with the then just accessible high-end digital capture systems. Prior to 2006 Mike had been working with a 4×5 technical camera and was transitioning from 4×5 crome one-shot images to multi-layered shots done on NPS negative film. The transition period let me jump right into multi-layered digital shots before anyone really had even conceived of the idea. This multi-layering along with digital capture kept the equipment requirements low enough that he was able to just do the project.
