Description
This was my first true art image, made in 2006 using only ground lighting and long exposure. Standing alone at night, lighting this abandoned structure by hand, I realized the photograph was no longer about the mill, the river, or the mountains.
It was about what appears when light enters darkness.
The water becomes a measure of time.
The building becomes a trace of human will.
The night becomes a stage where reality briefly reorganizes itself.
This image marks the moment my work shifted from capturing scenes to constructing experiences. Everything that followed began here.
