Description

On Driftwood Beach, a fallen giant stretches across stone and tide, suspended between ocean and sky.

The full moon rises low on the horizon, burning through the darkness as stars scatter above like distant witnesses.

The tree no longer reaches upward.

It reaches outward. Horizontal.

Grounded. Ended. And yet the light returns.

This work holds the moment between extinguishing and renewal, where collapse and illumination coexist.

Not triumph. Not defeat. Simply the certainty that light comes back.

Part of the Interstitium series, this image explores the fragile seam between ending and return.

Ardvreck Castle, Loch Assynt

Ardvreck Castle sits quietly on the edge of Loch Assynt, where stone and water have been in conversation for centuries. What remains is not ruin, but presence—held in light, wind, and time.

Slains Castle

This image was made along the cliffs of Slains Castle in Scotland, under a night that felt less like darkness and more like presence. Light does not simply reveal the structure, it isolates it. For a brief moment, the castle stands apart from time, suspended between land, sea, and sky. What was once a place of defense becomes something quieter, almost introspective. The walls hold history, but the light holds something else entirely. A sense that even in ruin, there is still weight, still meaning, still form. This photograph is about that intersection. Where architecture, landscape, and time briefly come into alignment. And then disappear again.

Monument of Light I

This image was made near Miraflores, Colombia, where a single tree has stood long enough to outlive memory.  Long enough to witness lives passing beneath it.To hold conversations, shelter travelers, and cast shade over moments that were never recorded. This tree is not isolated. It is inhabited by history. By footsteps.  By pauses. By the quiet exchanges between people and place. What we see here is not just form, but accumulation. Of time. Of presence.  Of use. In this work, the tree becomes more than structure. It becomes a gathering point. A witness. A constant in a landscape shaped by change. This photograph is not about capturing a moment, but about recognizing duration. The idea that some forms do not simply exist. They hold.
