This image was created in the brief interval where forces overlap rather than replace one another. Full moon. Full tide. Complete darkness. And a moving light carried through space. The tree stands not as an object, but as a crossing. Ocean becomes mist.

Boyacá Nocturne
On a fog-filled night in the Andes Mountains near Garagoa, Colombia, light entered the mist and became visible, drifting across the hillside as if it were a living thing. What appears here is not simply illuminated ground, but an encounter. The fog allows light to exist in space.

This work is not a depiction of a moment, but a construction of time itself.It is an unnatural capture, a compression of passing states into a single, continuous image. Night is held in suspension while day begins to form. Moonlight, receding stars, first color, and approaching sunrise are merged into one holistic field. What would normally unfold across hours is gathered here into one visual breath.

This was my first true art image, made in 2006 using only ground lighting and long exposure. Standing alone at night, lighting this abandoned structure by hand, I realized the photograph was no longer about the mill, the river, or the mountains.

Interstitium Marionette of the Moon
lluminated by a rising moon, the tree becomes both object and performance. Its branches fracture into shadows that stretch, split, and dance across the sand, transforming the shoreline into a silent theater. What stands rooted dissolves into motion. What is solid becomes gesture.

This image was made at Driftwood Beach during the final moments of night as the first light of morning begins to rise. The trees stand suspended in shallow water, neither fully submerged nor fully free, while the ocean loses its weight and becomes mist. Here, time is not passing forward. It is being held.
